Valentine's Wall Art!

Happy Weekend!

I decided to make a Valentine of my Valentine, my daughter!  I took an APT (Artist Printers Tray)...
...and decorated it up with some wallet size photos of my daughter from a couple different recent photo shoots and some paper and accessories from Echo Park's Be Mine Collection and Voila!
Anything that could fit through my Xyron Create-A-Sticker X and 5-inch machine were run through them for quick, easy and stay-put forever adhesive!

 And some close-ups:
Isn't she adorable?! :)

Here's an experiment I tried because I have had this piece of canvas hanging around for a while and have been dying to use it...but not sure what to do with it.  So this is what I came up with:
Again, this is all from Echo Park's Be Mine Collection (except for the 2 black flowers...those I've had sitting around for a while).

CopyCat - Burlap Valentine's Banner

Happy Friday!

I've got another CopyCat for you!  I saw this adorable burlap banner on Pinterest and knew just what to do with that burlap I had ordered a while back!
I decided to go "no sew" with my banner, but wanted to use fabric hearts, so I used some Heat 'n Bond and this is what I came up with:
I just made a template from cardstock for the pennant pieces and hearts and then cut everything out.  I did sew the ribbon to the banner.  And then I decided that it would look cute to have a stitch line around the hearts, so I tried it out on the end heart.
You can't really see it that well.  It's not that great.  But since you can't see it too well, I decided to go ahead and do the first heart as well.

A friend advised I use some floss since it would show up better and just hand stitch around the hearts.  Loved the idea!  Hope I can get around to doing it before Valentine's Day! :)

Have a great weekend...make time to get your craft on!

CopyCat - Coffee Filter Wreath and Lighted Valentine Dixie Cup Garland

Here's another wreath I thought was cute and seemed easy and inexpensive...the coffee filter wreath!
I followed the directions HERE at the Little Brown House blog.

Here's how mine turned out:
I'm pretty happy with it.  I need a different bow, but that's all I had at the time to throw something on there.  You need LOTS of coffee filters and LOTS of glue sticks!

The lighted Valentine Dixie Cup garland was inspired by this picture....
...at the Craft Happy blog.  They just used the Dixie Cups straight up...they're definitely cute enough.  I got this kind of patterned cup too, and they would be super cute alone.  But then I saw this...
...at the Jillibean Soup blog and new I wanted to do one with Valentine-themed paper.  I used the instructions HERE to make mine.

Here's how mine turned out:
I used "Be Mine" from Echo Park for the paper.  I love it.  Makes me feel like I still have Christmas hanging around with the lights! :)

CopyCat - Felt Heart Wreath

This is my week to show off my Copycat skills!  I just love to find adorable home decor only to find a tutorial!  It's like the "creator" of the item is begging me to make one...so who am I to disappoint?!

My first copycat project was this adorable felt heart wreath all over Pinterest!  This heart screams Valentine to me!

The instructions for this beauty are at The Idea Room blog here.  She said she used 3/4 yard of red felt, so that's how much I had cut and I used every last scrap and every last circle.  I could have actually used a few more circles as I can see a little bit of white wreath here and there.  Here's mine....
So happy with how it turned out.  It was so easy, too.  Only 3 "ingredients" needed....wreath form, felt and straight pins!  Cutting out the circles was a little time consuming, but I really didn't notice it much because I was watching football while cutting.  Multi-tasking rocks! :)

Now go get YOUR craft on!

Happy Valentine's Day Card

This is a very simple, quick Valentine's Day card I made, wanting to use some of my new Prima paper pads that Michelle Philippi had sent me.
The base is from the Fairy Flora collection and the lined piece with the sentiment is from the Reflections collection.  I distress inked the edges of the lined paper with Festive Berries and then Vintage Photo distress inks.  The little hot air balloons are from Our Craft Lounge "Love in the Air" stamp set.  I used some Christmas Red Stickles to fill in the heart on the balloon part.  The "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment is from Our Craft Lounge "Spilling Over" stamp set.  I used the "Heart" QuicKutz die in my new Big Shot to make the hearts and then put the hearts in my Diamond embossing folder and ran that through the Big Shot as well.  I folded them to give them a 3D effect and adhered them with some red line tape down the center back of each one.  And that's all she wrote! :)

Next week I'm excited to show you a bunch of crafty goodness I have made for Valentine's Day decorations around here!

Have a great weekend and, of course, get your craft on!

Valentine's Day Card - I'm on Cloud 9...

Here's a card I had a lot of fun making.
I used my new Big Shot (only $63.99 through Amazon.com right now) with the Tropical Paisley textured impressions embossing folder, I embossed my card base.

The three clouds were a "Snag 'em Stamps" by Imaginisce from the Happy Camper collection.

The hot air balloon and sentiment were from the recent stamps I won from Our Craft Lounge (see this post if you missed it).  This one was called "Love in the Air."

The paper piecing on the hot air balloon and the rest of the paper used for the card were from the "Be Mine" Echo Park collection.  This collection is so pretty!!!

I used Xmas Red Stickles for the "9" on "Cloud 9."

Hope you enjoyed!
