Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Mother's Day is just a week from Sunday!

Have you ever heard your man say, "I didn't know what to get you" as he hands you homemade coupons for a special occasion?  Me either.  But because we love our men so much and want to make their lives as easy as possible, why not let them know exactly what your Mother's Day gift wish list might look like.

For me, my list would look something like this (in no particular order):

1.  Charlotte Mason-inspired 2016-2017 Laying Down the Rails for Yourself Calendar Journal.  (Only $15.95 until May 5th...then goes up to $17.95).

I currently use "Charlotte's Heart for Teachers" Calendar Journal and love it!  It goes through July, so I'm ready for the next one.  I love that the new one will have excerpts from the book "Laying Down the Rails for Yourself."  It's all about forming good habits in your life...which will then help you instill good habits in your kids' lives as well!

2.  Turquoise Bungee Office Chair.  If you work all day taking care of kids and house, then have to end your day sitting at your computer and working a "real" job, you'll appreciate this gift idea.  A bungee chair!  My mom has this chair and I love getting to sit in it every time I go visit her!  They are soooo comfortable!!!  They're on amazon, but cheaper (and way more cool colors) at The Container Store...and free shipping! ($149)

3.  Amazon Gift Card.  Having trouble deciding which one of the hundred things on her Amazon wish list to get her?  Let her decide!  Get her an Amazon gift card and give her the gift of shopping for herself (with your money)! :)

4. Sorry, but I (and I think most moms) just LOVE gift cards to our favorite stores.  And this just happens to be (one of) mine!

5.  MASSAGE!  Did I mention kids, house, work, stress, messed up neck?  What I wouldn't give for a MASSAGE!!!

Okay, that should do it...for this year!

Happy Mother's Day Shopping!

Bible Art Journal Entry - The Lord Is My Refuge

He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge.
Psalm 91:4

One of the (many) things I love about Bible art journaling, is that I didn't have to go out and buy any new supplies (even though I probably did anyway), as crafting supplies are so versatile, I can use what I already have in my Bible, my planner, my cardmaking, etc.  And I LOVE stickers sheets!  I'm a total sticker girl!  My latest sticker score is this!  (Simples Stories "So Fancy" -- see link below)

Seriously, look at that pink VW bug!  And the typewriter!  And the phone!  I mean, it's just too cute to use!  I'll start to take a sticker off to use and then stop myself because I don't want it to leave me!  But I did bring myself to use a couple of the feathers for this amazing passage in Psalm.

I decided to use my own handwriting this time instead of stickers.  I've never liked my handwriting, but I'm trying to get over that and just embrace it!

The umbrella isn't a sticker, but it's part of a die cut pack from Illustrated Faith.  Such cute designs in that set as well!

And don't forget the washi!  I want all the washi!

I hope you're taking refuge under the wings of a mighty Savior today!

Bible Art Journal Entry: Sweeter Than Honey

How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Psalm 119:103

This was a sweet (no pun intended), quick little journal entry.  I borrowed a friend's stamp set that had this cute little bee on it (sorry, forgot to write down the name of it) and with the help of a Tim Holtz stencil, created this "honeycomb" look with a couple different colors of distress inks (Mustard Seed and Brushed Corduroy).

May you find the sweetness of God's Word today!

Bible Art Journal Entry: He Is Risen!

I hope you all had a glorious Easter!

This is some Bible art I did a while ago and was saving to share on Easter.

Luke 24 tells of the resurrection of Jesus!  The sun/He is Risen part of this journal entry was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest.  Also, I've been wanting to journal the words to Jeremy Camp's song, "Same Power," for some time, so when I saw my inspiration post on Pinterest, I knew the lyrics would go great with this entry!  Luckily I had room on the next page, since it was the last Chapter in the book and there was some room left over.

I used the Tim Holtz "Rays" stencil for the sun along with some Gelatos (love these things).  Paint, stamps and stickers make up the lyrics, "The same power that rose Jesus from the grave lives in us!"

Romans 8:11
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

We will not be overtaken, we will not be overcome!

Bible Art Journal Entry: Let Everything That Has Breath...

PRAISE THE LORD!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens!

Praise him for his mighty deeds;
praise him according to his excellent greatness!

Praise him with trumpet sound;
praise him with lute and harp!

Praise him with tambourine and dance;
praise him with strings and pipe!

Praise him with sounding cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!

Psalm 150

I had a lot of room to express my praise for God through art for this passage.  It's a lovely way to end the book of Psalm!  It's also a lovely way to start and end our days....and all the in-between parts too!

I got to attend a craft day with some ladies last month and had the best time.  One of the gals brought her stash of stamps (and other supplies) to share, and I used her stamps on this page (bird, branch, butterflies, flower, dragonfly, "everything" letters) and forgot to write down the name of the stamp sets, so don't have those listed below with the other supplies.

Get your praise on!
