Reasons to Smile

Good Evening Crafty Peeps!

I'm sending this post out tonight as I won't be on the computer much tomorrow.  I'm having a Facebook fast tomorrow, so you won't be seeing any posts from me if you follow my Pennants and Pinwheels Facebook page.  (If you don't follow, please LIKE me).

Hope life gives you many reasons to smile today and tomorrow!

Here are the challenges I'm entering my card in:

CAS-ual Fridays CFC87 - Make Your Mark.  The challenge was to use markers in some way on your project.  I used my markers to color my butterfly stamp as well as the stamp around the sentiment.

There She Goes Clear Stamps - TSG192: Woodgrain.  I used my woodgrain stamp from Market Street Stamps as the background to my card.  You still have time to enter this one; deadline is 2/4.  So get your woodgrain craft on and submit your lovely creation!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to sign up to receive email notifications of postings if you haven't already!  Would love to have you as a follower of my blog!

Oh, Happy Day Layout

Good Morning,

Today I actually have a layout to share with you all!  Haven't done a layout in quite some time, but I need to get back into the habit as I need to start scrapbooking for Micah's first year!  I'm already 2 months behind!

Here's my layout:
And a couple close-ups:

This layout was inspired by My Mind's Eye Blog's January Sketch by Rhonda HERE.  Here's a picture of the sketch.
I came across this picture and knew it would be a great one to use.  This was a very special moment shared with my sister (and best friend) as I was waiting to go out and marry the love of my life.   She always knows the right thing to say...and I always know something ridiculous to say to make her laugh!  I love you, Diddle!

Thanks for stopping by!

Time to get your craft on!

Dude Card or No?

Good Morning,

Today's card was inspired by a couple challenges listed below.  And I need your opinion...is this "masculine" enough to give a guy for his birthday?  I have the hardest time making cards for guys and I've got 4 guys in my family having birthdays in Feb/March and I need to get their cards made...but I can't stop using pink and/or flowers!

Here's the card and I really want your opinion, so please leave me a comment below.

Happy!

Happy Saturday!

Today's card was inspired by several different challenges.  It's a "Happy" Valentine's card...because drinking a shake would make me happy...and drinking a shake with someone I loved would make me even happier!  Especially if it was a chocolate shake from Chick-Fil-A!  They're just as good as Steak-N-Shake shakes, in my opinion.  Wow, how did we get on the subject of food?!  Let's get back to cards...now that I've got you salivating for something sweet!

It's similar to yesterday's card...I used the same stamp and paper collection.  Here's a close-up of the "happy" sentiment:

I'm entering this card in the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #12 HERE.  Here's the sketch:

I'm also entering my card in the Fresh Squeezed Stamps Squeeze-A-Palooza #4: Valentine's Day HERE.  I used their "Soda-Lighted" stamp set.

One more challenge entry at Simon Says Stamp: Let's Get Paper Piecing HERE.  I paper-pieced my straws and the glass.

What do Authentique and Weddings have in common?  Nothing, really...unless you need a card for an upcoming wedding AND want to enter an Authentique challenge and decide to combine the two.  That's how this card came about....

A Bike With Some Flair

Happy Wednesday!

Today I've another card inspired by Simon Says Stamp & Show Challenge: What Are You Known For? HERE.  As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I'm known for continually distress inking every edge on every piece of paper on every card!  I can't help it.  I just love that old, worn, shabby look.  My favorite distress ink to use is Vintage Photo

So here's my card with every edge distressed!

I've been dying to use those CUTE bicycle tire flair from Bossy Joscie!  Aren't they "spoketacular?!"  Sorry, couldn't resist!

What are YOU known for when it comes to your craft style?  I'd love to hear from you!

Time to get your craft on!

Sketch-Inspirted Baby Card

Good Morning!

I'm super excited to attend my niece's baby shower this weekend!  She's already had her precious baby...a girl!  It's been a while since I've done a baby card.  I wasn't sure where to start...until I came across the CAS(E) blog.  I decided to take part in their Sketch Challenge #11 HERE as to where to begin creating my card.

Here's the card I made:

And here's the sketch for the challenge I was working from:

I'm also going to enter this card into Simon Says Stamp & Show Challenge: What Are You Known For?  Well, if you know me at all, you know I can hardly let a card be considered finished without distress inking every edge with my all-time favorite distress ink "Vintage Photo."  I just love the distress-shabby-old-and-worn look!  So yeah, every edge is inked on this card. :)

Now go get your craft on!

Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a great weekend and got to do something fun...like crafting!

I made a card for Authentique's January Inspiration Color Challenge HERE.  Here's the color storyboard:
Such pretty colors!

Here's my card:

How could you not do a Valentine's card with those colors?! :)

My card design inspiration came from Kristina Werner's blog where she's starting a Friday Focus miniseries for Valentine’s Day with a total of four cards in the series.  This was the first one:

Fabulous, no?  Can't wait to see the rest!

I'm going to try to do one or two more cards for this challenge.  The more you enter, the better chances you have of winning!

Thank You Card

Good Afternoon,

Hope you all are having a fabulous Saturday and are finding some time to get your craft on!

Today I created a card to be entered in 2 different challenges:

CAS-ual Fridays CFC86: Long and Short.
The challenge is to make a card with a long side and a short side (no A2 cards).  I did a 3x6 card.

ScrapFIT: Workout #84: Color Inspiration (Aquamarine, Beige and White).

I found the colors I needed in My Mind's Eye "All Is Bright" 6x6 paper pad.  I added some Brown Sugar Divine Twine and some flair from Paper Play Studios

Here's a close up of my sentiment using my Stampabilities "Cute Border Mix" stamp set.

You can check out my step-by-step process for creating this card on Instructagram HERE.  I'm entering it for a chance to win a $50 gift card to any online merchant of my choice.  Go HERE to find out the details and make your own Instructagram!

I'm off to enjoy the rest of my Saturday!
