Valentine Paper Roll Owls

Happy Hump Day!

Fell in love with these paper roll owls from Happy Clippings.  And joy of all joys, I already had all the supplies I would need to make them.

I knew Olivia would love making one too.  So when her friend came over, I knew it was a perfect opportunity to get our craft on!

I made one first to make sure it wasn't going to be too difficult.  It wasn't!

The girls had fun too!

Yarn Valentine's Wreath

So yeah, I'm pretty obsessed with heart wreaths right now!  I still have my large felt heart wreath from a couple years ago...

And then there are the 2 most recent ones I blogged about; the smaller felt heart wreath (to the left of the big one in the pic below)...

and a small hot pink one...

And I had one more heart form to do and I went with yarn this time around!

It was a little blah, so I was trying to figure out a way to add a little life to it and noticed this burlap ribbon sitting around that I've been dying to use.  So I wrapped it diagonally and made a burlap rose to add to it.

I am really loving the combo of red and burlap for Valentine's colors!  And even Christmas would be fabulous too!  Yep, already thinking about Christmas decorating! :)

Pinned It, Did It Friday -- Heart Felt Valentine Trees

Fell in love with these heart felt trees from Lolly Jane!

I really didn't think I was going to make these as I only had really tall styrofoam trees and I wasn't feeling like cutting out enough felt hearts was going to happen before Valentine's Day.  But then I ran across a couple short trees at Wal-Mart the other day and grabbed them just for this purpose.  Already had enough felt and straight pins on hand!

Here's how mine turned out:

They fit in perfectly with my already very Valentiney mantle!  And I love them!

Be sure and go HERE to find out the specifics on making your own!  You'll love all the great inspiration you'll get from these 2 sisters at Lolly Jane!

Chalkboard Clipboard Valentine's Day Countdown

I have a new obsession....chalkboard paint!  I finally got some and I'm hooked!  I'm so happy to have a fun project for all those clipboards I've been hanging onto for years now as well.  My first clipboard project is a Valentine's Day count down!

Start out with your clipboard, chalkboard paint and a sponge brush.

I just followed the instructions on the chalkboard paint bottle which said to paint it on horizontally, wait and hour, then paint it on vertically.  Wait an hour or 2 and then rub a piece of chalk over the whole thing and wipe with a damp towel.

Now to pretty it up!  This is where my Silhouette Cameo comes in!  I bought a couple new designs (owl and XOXO) and then typed out the lettering using a fun font.

The most awesomest part...the chalk holder!  Yep, it's a scrabble tile holder that I painted and glued on.  Love it!

Super happy with how it turned out!  Can't wait to "decorate" another one.  Post to follow!

I'll be linking this up at The Party Bunch and the Link Party Palooza.

Pinned It, Did It Friday - Pretty Painted Lid Bathroom Jars

I dusted off my "Craft Ideas" Pinterest board and found these adorable bathroom jars that I've been wanting to for forever!

Aren't they fabulous?!

I already had everything I needed except for the knobs, so I went to Hobby Lobby when they were half off and picked out a few.

I decided to paint all my lids the same color, but I love the multi-color look of my inspiration photo too!

Quick and easy project that's super cute!  My favorite kind!  Go HERE to see how the gals at Eighteen25 did the original ones!  Follow their blog while you're there; they have the best projects!

Lighted Valentine Dixie Cup Garland

Today we're revisiting another oldie but goodie Valentine's Day project I did a couple years ago...the lighted Valentine's Dixie Cup Garland!  HERE's my original post.  And here's a picture of my garland back then.

I went searching for some 12x12 Valentine's Paper Kits to cover my Dixie cups with this year and the only one I could find was Bo Bunny's Smoochable Collection.  So that's the paper I used on this garland.  Here are some close-ups.

And an overall view of my Valentine's mantle:

Felt Heart Wreaths

I always forget just how much I love decorating for Valentine's Day until January 1st when all the Christmas decorations are gone and my home is so bare.  So I fill it up with pink and red everything!  Today we're revisiting an oldie but goodie!  In fact, I loved this project I did 2 years ago so much, I never put it away after Valentine's Day!  I hung it up in my room and that's where it lives until the next Valentine's Day, when it makes its way back to my mantle.  It's the felt heart wreath!

The one above is the one I made 2 years ago. This year I decided to make some more...in different sizes and colors.  I made a smaller red one and then I made a smaller pink one.  LOVE this pink color!

Here you can see how much smaller it is compared to my original red one.

Then I did a smaller red one seen sitting to the left there.

We're going to revisit my lighted Valentine's Dixie cup garland seen above (and below) in tomorrow's post!  :)

Night view...so pretty!

You can go HERE to check out my original post on how to make the felt heart wreaths.  They are super gorgeous and super easy and inexpensive to make!

Love these apothecary jars!
Finally got around to making a couple!  I love that you can change out the contents and ribbon for any occasion/holiday.

Inspired by THIS tutorial!  Thank you KC!  Here are mine!

I never could find any of the candlesticks at the major craft stores, so I ordered mine from HERE.  Everything else can be found at Hobby Lobby.
