You Rock!

I like it when I can come up with a great "guy" card.  They're so hard for me!  This one is super versatile too; it can be for a birthday, Father's Day, or "just because!"

And when I say I "came up with" a card idea....I mean I looked on Pinterest and copied someone else's idea! :)

Whenever I get a Stampin' Up! stamp set, it's fun to go to Pinterest and type in the name of the set in the search field and then see all the different ways you can use your stamps...ways you might not have thought of before.

So here's my card using the "Skating By" stamp set from SU.

I popped the guitar off the page using some craft foam tape.

I think I might make a few more of these as I do have some guitar lovers in my family who totally rock!

A Birthday With a View

Happy Friday!

I'm going to end the week with a birthday card.  With my ever-growing collection of distress inks, especially since they came out with those cute little mini ones, I figured I better get to using them and not just hoarding them!

I got this "Hearth and Home" die from Stampin' Up which is a really cool window die.  I just love how versatile it is!

If you "Pinterest" this die, you can find so many wonderful ways to use it.  That's exactly how I found my inspiration for this card.  I couldn't find any specific instructions on what color distress inks to blend for this kind of scene, so I just winged it, and I 'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

For the ocean, I blended Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire and Peacock Feathers.

For the sky/sun, I blended Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon and Pickled Raspberry.

So if you have a beach-loving, ocean-watching, I'd-Rather-Be-At-The-Beach kind of friend birthday coming up, break out those distress inks and get to blending!

Valentine Bicycle Card

Hey There!

I've got 1 more Valentine card this week and then hopefully tomorrow I can change things up with a birthday card that will have you longing for the beach!

This card just took 3 stamps and a few different color inks.  My cute bicycle stamp is from a company that is no longer in business, but I found an adorable block stamp on Amazon in case you're in the market for one.  It's in my supplies list below.

The stamp set came with 2 different baskets you could choose from.  One had a puppy in it and the other had flowers in it.  Since I wanted to fill my basket with hearts, I put tape over the puppy (no puppy was harmed in the making of this card), inked up my stamp, took the tape off and then stamped my image.  Voila!  An empty basket!  I used a tiny heart from another stamp set with different color inks to show hearts flowing out of my basket.

I added a little Vintage Photo distress ink to my white paper edges...very subtle.  And the rest is pretty self explanatory!

Okay, time for you to go get your craft on!
