A Rustic Thanksgiving

Quick giveaway alert:  Webster's Pages HERE.  Check it out!

Today's card is inspired by Simon Says Stamp and Show:  Challenge Rustification!  Check out the challenge HERE

First, I took some pages from an old hymnal and distress inked them with a variety of Tim Holtz Distress Inks including Vintage Photo, Tea Dye, Peeled Paint, Old Paper, and Crushed Olive.  No particular order or method, just trying to get a "rusty" look.

I then misted the chipboard embellishment (which was won in a giveaway...don't even know what to call it) with a brown mist and then some Black Magic.  Didn't know how that would look, but not bad.  I then inked on top of that after it had dried with some rust-colored and yellow-colored ink spots...not that you can see it in the picture.

The bottom of the card needed something, so I added some fall/rustic-looking flowers.

I love that the "songs" on the hymnal pages are "Thanksgiving" and "The Changing Year."  So I guess this would be a fall/Thanksgiving type card.

You should enter the challenge.  It was a lot of fun rusting it up!

Go get your craft on!

  2. Cheryl, very nice rusty project! Love how you've altered your hymnal pages and the beautiful piece that you've done such a gorgeous job of rusting that is holding your hymnal pages in place. Love it! Thanks for sharing your art with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
